WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Amanda is incredibly well networked within
the visual arts of Wales. She is a natural mentor and cares deeply about promoting the careers of artists and arts professionals.
Curator & Associate Professor of Art History, University of Ottawa, Canada
Amanda’s keen eye and close attention to detail have made a huge impression on me, she just ‘knows’ how things need to be. I have always had great confidence in this. It is a real skill, refined over many years, and I am glad to have benefitted from it.
Artist, Writer & Lecturer
Amanda's curatorial career is beautifully balanced. Her combined intellectual and practical approach when creating an exhibition is seamless, which may be due to her intuitive understanding of the artist she is working with. Amanda worked with me on my exhibition To this I Put My Name and our discussions led to one of my most productive periods in my career. Thank you Amanda
I’ve known and worked with Amanda over many years, mainly through her roles at Mission Gallery, but especially during her time as Director. It was always a delight to collaborate with her. Amanda is a can-do person, and very easy to work with.
During her time at Mission she contributed substantially across the spectrum of its remit; demonstrating her many years of expertise. Sound deep knowledge and understanding of contemporary visual art and craft, was coupled with acute commercial judgment collating, contextualising and selling work.
Through several projects I have enjoyed her collaborative approach and I do hope to work with her again in the future.

During my time at Swansea, one of the great pleasures – and privileges – was working with Amanda Roderick. As the then Director of the city’s Mission Gallery, Amanda brought an amazing range of skills and talents to our collaborations. Imagination, precision, kindness, and determination – Amanda displays all these qualities in everything she does, enabling us to realise events of superlative quality.
